okay...so you finish college, been living on campus or your own apartment the entire time you've been at school...now that its done, you have to make a decision to move back home or stay where your at and possibly struggle...
OR, you decide to pick your life up, move to a new place and start fresh, relaying on friend's apartments to stay at because you don't have your own place set up, let alone a job to pay for your it...what do you do when you can't stay with friends anymore...
I know it is hard to go home when you've been away for so long or trying to start something new somewhere new...I know this because I recently moved back to my mom's house...Its one of the hardest decisions to make, mainly because of where home is at (I don't like the area or many of the people for that matter...I feel like its a dead zone, once you're there, you don't finish or do the things you really want to)...but I couldn't afford to live on my own or even have roommates because of bills I already acquired...I wasn't going to add more stress to my life just to have my own place, especially in these economic hard times...I'm saving money in multiple ways by being home, focusing on the real things and not worrying adding anymore bills to the pile...
My suggestions to anyone who is contemplating moving home or moving away from home are these:
1. If you don't have a job, then don't move away from home
2. If you're moving out-of-state, have your apartment, job and transportation ALREADY set up BEFORE you move, so your not moving from one friend's place to another or struggling to find a job...what happens if things don't work out and your left stranded???
3. If you have the opportunity to move home, where you can save money and get back on your feet, DO IT!...it takes an ADULT to realize that you need help and if your family is there, ready to have you back, GO FOR IT!!!...it doesn't make you any less of a person
Too often we are blinded by pride to take the help or opportunities we need...we believe that status is more important than self preservation...
If your in a tough situation, take a step back, honestly evaluate if your in a good spot financially, emotionally, living situation, etc...If you find more cons than pros, look how you can improve the cons any way possible and yes, that means going back to moms!
