In the Beginning

so where to begin?

I'm 23 years old, recent college graduate with a social science degree in Women Studies with a concentration in health and science (dont know what that means, its okay, a lot of people dont). Mainly, I went to school with every intention of ending up with my nursing degree. Well that didn't work out, but having found women's studies, I truly fell in love with something else.

However, nursing is still calling and lets face it, with the economy the way it is, trying to find a job out of college is difficult, let alone something you like to do. I refuse to do anything I don't enjoy doing, hence why I'm still working for Cracker Barrel. Besides all the issues that may arise, I like working with people, helping people or my co-workers. Most of the time it doesnt feel like work (most of the time...)

But besides work, I seem to be the one who's friends always come to for advice or questions or whatever...even people I dont know seem to ask, not quite sure why sometimes...but I do a great job giving them the answers (even though I cant seem to always apply the same to my life, after all its always easier to recognize faults in everyone but yourself)...

Im opinionated (if you cant stand the truth, then dont ask me), but I leave the door open for a debate (I love to debate, never argue), hence why I loved and did so well in women's studies...it opens your mind to ideas and concepts outside your box, opens your eyes to problems that you've never noticed...

So to the point of this blog: write about the struggles of being a post-graduate in a crappy economy, life, love, politics, religion (dare i say those two topics :) ) and whatever else might come across my little feminist mind...I welcome suggestions, comments, debates and of course compliments if it so fits!!! Here goes my adventure, welcome to my world!

  1. Hey girlie!! I know what it is like graduating and how they make it seem like its soooooo easy to get a job in your field, especially something YOU like to do. I worked two minimum wage jobs before getting a job in my career. I have to admit I like what I do even though my life is at risk everyday. Something WILL come you just have to endure a little more...follow me by the way LOL! CONGRATZ too!!! LOL
